Acupuncture during Pregnancy and Postnatal Care

Labour preparation
Acupuncture is used 3 to 4 weeks prior to the due date to prepare the pelvis and cervix followed by further treatments until labour begins. Acupuncture can provide a gentle inducement to labour if the baby is overdue and can be an alternative to medical induction.
Postnatal care
Acupuncture has techniques to promote recovery such as 'mother warming treatments' and dietary advice to strengthen the body. Other conditions that acupuncture may help:
